MEPs For Wildlife recently wrote to Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Commissioner Karmenu Vella regarding the Maltese government’s decision to open a turtle dove spring hunting season.
This decision directly violates a former EU court ruling stating that hunting of the turtle dove is not allowed because the species is on a protected conservation list.
